Dressing a Chesterfield in collaboration with Home Fabrics
Born Furniture had the amazing experience and honour to collaborate with Home Fabrics SA on a discussion regarding how to dress a chesterfield sofa. Home Fabrics SA is a top design house in South Africa and the main distributor of FibreGuard Fabric. In their latest Home Fabrics Trends Vlog, we discussed the array of options available to you from Home Fabrics and Born Furniture when experimenting with texture, colour and popular trends.

TOUCHSTONE From FibreGuard
Drawing inspiration from a paired down, classical colour palette that works perfectly with that authentic, raw chesterfield shape, the following collections would work perfectly:
VELVETS
In velvet, Moulin Rouge has two phenomenal designs for this type of application. Deluxe and Lesch, the deep, saturated colours have that timeless appeal, ideal for a Chesterfield sofa.
MIMIC SKINS
An alternative to leather would be Touchstone and there are two designs, in particular, that stand out: Triton and Rex. They are so close to real skin but come with the added benefits of FibreGuard specifications which sets this collection apart.
Twice is a mock suede collection from HF Basics. Coming in 40 000 Martindale rubs with a selection of traditional colours, this it is also completely reversible – offering two colour-ways from one piece of material.
PATTERNS
John Derian’s Picture Book II for Designers Guild would be the inspiration for this feature because, as an artist, he puts together the most beautiful illustrative pictures based predominantly on natural history.
